Yoga Curriculum Overview

A Deep Dive into Subtle Wisdom and Embodied Teaching

This 100-hour Yoga & Ayurveda Module offers a profound immersion into the yogic teachings that illuminate the path of healing, balance, and inner clarity. Rooted in classical texts and lived experience, this training is a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern application—designed to support yoga teachers, wellness practitioners, and sincere seekers in deepening their understanding and refining their practice.

Samkhya Philosophy

At the foundation of both Yoga and Ayurveda is Samkhya, one of the oldest schools of Indian philosophy. In this module, we will explore:

  • The 24 principles (tattvas) that form the building blocks of the manifest universe

  • The duality of Purusha (pure consciousness) and Prakriti (nature), and how this interplay informs our lived experience

  • How Samkhya provides the philosophical underpinning for both yogic and Ayurvedic worldviews

  • Application of these principles in meditation, self-inquiry, and teaching

This foundational lens allows students to view their own life patterns, choices, and imbalances through a deeper spiritual perspective.

Subtle Anatomy & Energetics

Moving beyond muscles and bones, we enter the inner terrain—the subtle body:

  • Understanding the koshas (layers of being), chakras, and nadis (energy channels)

  • The role of prana, tejas, and ojas in vitality and spiritual evolution

  • Exploration of how the gunas (qualities of nature) influence our body, mood, and mental state

  • Practices to refine awareness of subtle energies through pranayama, mantra, and meditation

Students will learn to guide others not just into postures, but into greater energetic balance and deeper self-awareness.

Designing Yoga Sessions Through the Lens of Ayurveda

This module uniquely emphasizes how to structure and sequence yoga practices based on Ayurvedic wisdom:

  • How to create classes that support doshic balance (Vata, Pitta, Kapha)

  • Seasonal and time-of-day considerations for asana, breathwork, and rest

  • The energetics of postures and how to use them therapeutically

  • Customizing yoga for individual constitutions, life phases, and imbalances

Whether you are leading group classes or offering private sessions, this knowledge empowers you to teach with greater precision, compassion, and integrity.
